Murder After Hours, published in 1946, was the first Agatha Christie novel in four years to feature her most popular creation, Belgian detective Hercule Poirot, and it's not a happy re-emergence. I've remarked in a number of my reviews of Christie's previous Poirot books that she seemed to be getting tired of him by the late 1930s and seemed much more interested in writing romance novels than mysteries (in fact, Christie published a number of straight romances under a pseudonym over this period) [...]

    4. This was a good book, but it started our really slow, and wasn't very exciting until near the end. I would reccommend this book to high level readers, because lower level readers might have trouble reading it.
